Assembly of the Digital Age

How?

Partnerships with various organisations have been formed to provide financial and technical support to the development and growth of ADA.

We will work with technology partners on building an open-source platform, where everyone can contribute towards the spread of digital education. We will open dialogues with other NGOs and international organisations such as UNESCO and Earth Charter.

We will work with writers and directors on making short films and documentaries to present the opportunities and risks in the digital age. ¥ We will look to form partnerships with educational establishments around the world – and discussions have been started with universities in Scotland.

Commissioning relevant research

Evidence-based research can shed light on the best ways to achieve the social and economic benefits of new innovations and the development of digital skills. We will commission research to explore the barriers to the use of digital technology and the risks of disengagement.

Providing support to governments

Governments work in the context of building social mobility and inclusion. ADA will advocate equal access to digital education and the effective application of digital skills to assist this work. In particular, we will work to ensure that digital equality extends to women and the developing world.

Creating recognised standards

We will work towards the development of rigorous standards for citizens and private and public organisations to ensure that they are following best practice and seek to develop a roadmap for educators and trainers to re-engineer their schools and classrooms to ensure the quality of their training delivery and all related activities are of a high standard.

Organising and hosting discussions

We will promote dialogue between people in relevant fields to facilitate practical ways of improving the current level of digital awareness and skills. In particular, we will concentrate on the areas of digital safety, security and ethics – and the legal frameworks required to support them.

Providing educational materials

To ensure that the public can have the opportunity to benefit from the advantages of digital learning, ADA aims to provide accessible materials through an open-source platform, where everyone can contribute towards the spread of digital education.

Providing support to educational establishments and NGOs

To tackle the general lack of digital awareness and relevant skills, ADA aims to provide support to educational establishments and NGOs in raising awareness of digital careers and the wider social and economic opportunities new innovations can bring about. We are developing training programmes with the aim of equipping educators and NGOs with the necessary skills and knowledge in spreading the importance of digital education.

Providing support to local initiatives

ADA is a community of interest and recognizes the effectiveness of working at the level of communities of place also. We aim to provide support to local organisations so that education and training provision is better matched to local demand.
